Commotion in the Ocean - Penguin Power!

H3 worked with D1 on their dance item for the show.  We had to practise and practise to get all the moves right.  We loved our penguin costumes.  Don't we look great!

Blowing Beautiful Big Bubbles in H3!

Let's Practise!

We are starting to get ready for our Junior show "Commotion in the Ocean". Here is one of our songs we are learning, its all about a yellow submarine!

Yellow Submarine- The Beatles

In the town where I was born,
Lived a man who sailed to sea,
And he told us of his life,

In the land of submarines,
So we sailed on to the sun,
Till we found the sea of green,
And we lived beneath the waves,
In our yellow submarine,

We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine,
yellow submarine,

We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine,
yellow submarine.

And our friends are all aboard,
Many more of them live next door,
And the band begins to play.
(Trumpets play)

We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine,
yellow submarine,

We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine,
yellow submarine.

As we live a life of ease Every one of us has all we need,
Sky of blue and sea of green,
In our yellow submarine.

We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine,
yellow submarine,

We all live in a yellow submarine,
yellow submarine,
yellow submarine.

Cute Colourful Clowns

Last week in H3 we focussed on the letter C and found out lots and lots about it.
Do you know there are so many words that begin with 'C' but you have to be very careful as the letter 'K' makes the same sound and can trick you!  We know 'cat' begins with 'C' but not 'kitten'!
On Friday we made very cute and colourful clown faces.  We are holding them in the photos.

Discovery and adventure at the rocky shore!

Today H3 went to the Island Bay Marine Education Centre.  We got to touch and hold so many different sea creatures in the 'touch tanks' like starfish and sea cucumbers and sea urchins and shells that moved!  We saw Madonna the octopus being fed a crab for her lunch.  We saw the sea horses gliding up and down their tank looking almost magical.  And the cute, little turtles made us laugh!
The wind was blowing very hard as we clambered and climbed over the rocks to explore the rock pools.  We almost got blown away by the fierce Wellington wind as we crouched down to look at the octopus hiding under the rocks and held the teeny, tiny shells we found.
Have a look at H3 at the rocky shore!
